One person is dead in an overnight shooting involving Springfield police officers in Bay County.
It happened around midnight Thursday on Bob Little Road.
According to the Springfield Police Chief, Barry Roberts, officers responded to a disturbance after a woman was reported to be screaming for help.
When officers arrived, they encountered a situation in which forced was used and an officer fired his weapon.
“One person is deceased,” said Roberts. “We’re waiting on FDLE to arrive to conduct an investigation.”
He said no officers were harmed in the incident.
